Multiplication Assessment
- From Monday 2nd June 2025
The multiplication tables check is designed to help ensure children in primary school know their times tables up to 12 x 12 by heart. As well as being critical for everyday life, knowledge of multiplication tables helps children to solve problems quickly and flexibly, and allows them to tackle more complex mathematics later on in school.
- Children will be asked 25 questions ranging from 1 x 2 up to 12 x 12

- This will be completed on an ipad or computer
How can you help at home?
- Support your child to practice their times tables
- Ensure your child plays TTRocks daily to help with their quick recall of times table facts
- Practice recalling multiplication and division facts
Year 4 Highlights
It has been a busy term in Year 4 so far with lots of fun practical activities. We enjoyed a local walk to help inspire our writing in English, which has also included watching clips of The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse to help children produce some lovely suspense writing.
In DT, we have been exploring games that use electricity and then starting to learn skills to help us make our own games later this term. During History lessons, we all enjoyed getting our hands mucky as we became Anglo-Saxon builders and created walls of wattle and daub. Our science lessons have also been very practical as we have looked at the ways sounds are made, how sounds travel (including making cup/string phones) and how we can change the pitch of sounds.
